| Cuidad Bolivar to Gran Sabana |
| From Cuidad Bolivar, we headed South to El Dorado, a town famous for its gold mines and prison. |
| For a few days we had heard in road side restaurants that there was another cyclist on the road. In El Dorado we finally got to meet him. Alvaro, from Spain was also going to Manaus so we decided to travel together. |
| The village of San Isidro, more commonly known to locals as km 88 is the last place to buy supplies before heading up onto the high grasslands of southeastern Venezuela known as Gran Sabana. |
| After km 88 the road ascends through thick tropical vegetation. |
| Exotic plants. |
