Seeing many beautiful soapstone ornaments for sale by the side of the
road we decided to stop in on a workshop. |

| Realising we were about to leave the coastline for the
last time on our journey, we spent a day snorkelling and enjoying the
beaches of the islands of Morrocoy Marine National Park. Unfortunately we
paid less attention than was wise to applying suncream to the areas not
exposed to the sun when cycling and ended up with some sunburn which made
cycling uncomfortable for at least a week afterwards. |

| Having our photo taken for a newspaper in Maracay. We
didn’t realise the fame it was going to bring us. Even more people were
shouting encouragement from car windows but now they already seem to know
where we are going. |
